DiGiCo Launches Monthly Seminar Programme
With a steady stream of engineers wanting hands-on training on DiGiCo’s ever-growing range of digital consoles, the company is launching a monthly series of seminars at its Surrey headquarters. Training was previously given on an ‘as required’ basis, but demand is now so great that the company has decided to formalise the sessions and provide a monthly schedule.
“When we were making large format consoles, like the D1, D5 and SD7, the best way to provide the service was product-focused, individual training for a particular show or tour,” says James ‘JJ’ Lawford of DiGiCo UK sales. “However, because we now manufacture consoles in a range of sizes, which address several market sectors, we have found that a correspondingly greater range and number of people - including many freelancers - want training that is most appropriate for their needs.”
Giving participants the best quality training is very important, so DiGiCo is limiting each seminar to a maximum of five people. Each day will include:
• An introduction to DiGiCo and SD series of consoles
• Demonstration and hands-on training on consoles
• Practical applications
• Q&A on practical applications, with help and supervision from a number of DiGiCo staff, including Product Specialists
Each seminar will have a theme - ranging from in-depth use of individual consoles at one extreme, to a broad overview of DiGiCo consoles and user basics at the other. This ensures that, whatever a user‘s needs, there will be training that is most appropriate to them.
“Interest in the expanding range of consoles is now so high that it’s impossible to do one-to-one training for all users,” says JJ. “We will still provide that service for those with a particular need - for example someone going on tour - but, by running the seminars every month and limiting numbers to five per session, we can still provide very high quality training, while satisfying the ever-increasing demand.”
Prospective attendees can register for the new monthly sessions via a signup form on the training page of DiGiCo’s web site at
