DiGiCo marks a happy anniversary -
and its customers get more than they bargained for...

In true DiGiCo style, the team has been working hard to develop a suitable reward to share with its customers to mark this momentous occasion.

"The best tribute, and the most logical reward, we could come up with was to release some more of the FPGA design's untapped potential," says John Stadius, DiGiCo's technical director. "The great advantage to designing with a single FPGA chip is the flexibility and future proofing it offers over DSP technology."

Each of the SD consoles will receive some significant upgrades in both software and firmware. In some cases the feature expansion represents a 100% increase to the current specification -and, it is not just limited to the processing options. As an example, 'Supercharging' your SD9 will increase your channel processing to 48 full flexi channels, in DSP terms, this is equivalent to 96 channels of processing.

These upgrades, depending on the console model, represent expansion options costing between £2,500 and £7,500.

To help celebrate the anniversaries, DiGiCo will supply the upgrades free of charge to all existing consoles and customers as a thank you for their loyal support and continued commitment to the DiGiCo brand and family.

The offer will also extend to any new customers purchasing an SD console. (For a limited time only).

"When we developed the SD series using Stealth Digital Processing^TM, we designed it around a large scale single FPGA chip technology. This is radically different to our competitors, who are still using DSP as the main audio processor. This advantage in technology ensures the longevity and future expandability of the SD range of consoles," says James Gordon, DiGiCo's managing director. "Being able to create substantial upgrades for our customers is one of the benefits that we're delighted to be able to offer - and of course to provide them free of charge to mark our anniversary and reward the loyalty of DiGiCo's customers is something very special."

There is not long to wait either, as these expansions are planned to roll out in the first half of 2012, - DiGiCo's anniversary year.
